Good morning! I decided that hitting the West Orange trail in the mornings is getting harder because it is so. dang. hot! Not only is it hot but it is SO humid! I couldn’t finish a simple 3 mile run with Robbie on Tuesday because I felt like I couldn’t breathe. One of my friends from Minnesota refers to Florida as like living in someone’s mouth. Gross. And I also am not loving bringing Roxy outside too long unless there is water involved. She gets warm quickly. This morning I didn’t have training clients, so I did an at home cardio workout. Next obstacle: 9 month old crawling EVERYWHERE! It actually turned out to be her breakfast time by the time I got ready to exercise so I multi-tasked today. A couple spoonfuls of food for baby, a circuit of 4 exercises for mommy, repeat. Here is the circuit I did:
1. 10 Jump squats
2. 10 Mountain climbers
3. 10 Football high knees (take 3 steps sideways and bring knee up high on the side, then go to the other side)
4. 10 Burpees (check out What is a Burpee post)
I did this circuit then rested 30 seconds (or a couple of spoonfuls of food), and repeated for 25 minutes. I was done by the end!
There are low versions of all of these exercises if you have any joint issues. Take out the jumping element, but go through the motions and get your heart rate up!
