So here I am, 3 and a half months after having our baby girl, and I am not where I would like my body to be. I know you are all thinking ‘get over it, you had a baby’, but I need to be and look in good shape since training is my profession! So it’s time to step it up! Since I’m breastfeeding, I cannot cut calories too drastically or I won’t be able to feed the little one. So after being inspired by some recent Netflix documentaries, I plan on juicing more veggies and fruits.
I don’t have a good juicer, but I do have a ninja blender, so I think that will do the trick. Tomorrow I will be going grocery shopping for all of my ingredients, and I’m really excited to try some new recipes and share them with you.
Here is the list of foods that I will be eating: (I already eat like this, but no other junk will be creeping in for the next 30 days).
Fruits and veggies (tons)
Whole, unprocessed grains (brown rice, quinoa, oats,
Meats with no hormones or antibiotics
Isagenix protein shakes (click HERE for more info)
Water, and lots of it!
Foods I will NOT be having for the next 30 days:
Coffee-the hardest one for me by far. I have been drinking too much lately and need to cut back.
Anything with chemicals or preservatives (which eliminates a ton of our culture’s food)
The best part of this is I am starting it on a Friday, not a Monday. The mentality of starting a ‘diet’ on a Monday is rarely successful because of the participant’s frame of mind. It’s similar to ‘tomorrow I will eat healthy’, when in reality it should be a daily occurrence.
Join me for the next 30 days and feel a difference in your body, mood and energy! I am ready to get rid of the last of this baby weight! Here we go!
I’m finishing day 6 of my detox and I feel great. However day 2 and 3 were pretty rough. I was SO tired. I think it was a combination of no caffeine and a teething baby waking me up at night. Saturday was supposed to be my long run, and I could barely get out of bed! I finally made myself go to the trail, after I told myself I had to just do 1 mile if that was all I could do. I started out really slow and made it past one, then two, then struggled to 5.5 before my little girl started crying and I had to stop. (I was supposed to do 7 miles that day for my half marathon training). But even though it was super hard, I was very happy I made myself go out and get it in. I don’t have that super tired feeling any more, and I have enough energy to get through my workouts. I am not severely decreasing my calories, I am just making sure all my calories come from whole foods and junk foods or ‘diet’ foods (No fat free, sugar free, chemical laden foods). If I am hungry, I eat, it just has to be on my list. So it doesn’t feel like I am doing anything drastic, I have just committed to no ‘splurges’ for 30 days. I am also using Isagenix Isalean protein shake for a meal or snack during the day, and an Isagenix Whey Protein shake at night. I think they have some of the best ingredients around when it comes to nutrition supplements, and consider them in the whole food category for that reason. But beware because even though there are some good supplements out there, they are NOT all created equal! But I look forward to my nightly shake right now, when usually that is when I am ‘craving’ something sweet.
We shall see what the scale says Friday. I am ready to be back in my clothes already! Here we go! Anyone joining me for the next 24 days??
