Tuesdays have gotten the hashtag #transformationTuesday on social media these days. I decided I would take part in it this week and post my Isabody challenge picture. I enrolled in this challenge to help motivate me to get rid of my baby weight. My first picture was taken at 4 months after Lexi was born, and my second picture was taken this past week, which was 7 1/2 months after she was born. (Did I mention it was the WEEK AFTER Christmas! Sheesh, I planned that one well! ). I actually didn’t deny myself some indulgences over our vacation, but was still able to maintain my loss over the last two weeks of holiday celebrations.
I have finally learned to not deprive myself when I am trying to lean out, but instead to give my body great nutrition, and a good amount of it. I don’t diet anymore. Dieting for me led to binge eating and guilty feelings when I did eat anything ‘bad’. It was awful feeling like I had failed on a weekly basis. My weeks usually looked like Monday through Thursday restrict calories, Friday through Sunday eat everything I could find in the fridge and pantry. Monday I would feel guilty and start the whole thing over again and restrict. I couldn’t get off this cycle and I didn’t feel good about myself. I don’t feel like that anymore. I live with the idea of eating clean good foods 80-90% of the time every day of the week, which gives me some wiggle room to have the things I enjoy. (Chocolate is a staple in my diet these days). I also use some amazing nutritional supplements that help my body function how it is supposed to and keep me feeling balanced and not deprived.
